At Farris Engineering, we believe coordination and communication are the most important qualities to ensure delivery of permit drawings that are accurate while keeping to a tight schedule. We achieve this by harnessing the power of Revit through building information modeling (BIM). With Revit we can not only produce three dimensional details for better conveying the design intent, we can also derive vast amounts of information relative to design, construction, and material types/quantities. Fully constructed models can provide a check for estimators performing takeoffs during budgeting and also as a tool for shop fabricators to understand the layout of the structure. When used effectively, Revit will help reduce field changes (RFIs) by detecting problematic conditions early on in the design phase of the project rather than during construction. This saves the project owner and contractors time and money.
